The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) understands that there are concerns among the people of Marawi City and the clamor to return to their homes. But we must make it known that we have put in our best efforts in coming up with programs, projects and activities for the city ever since President Duterte tasked us with this important work.
The interest of the Maranao has always been top-of-mind for the agencies involved in TFBM. To achieve this, we work closely with the local governments of Marawi, Lanao Del Sur and the ARMM government, even down to the barangay level. Likewise, we conduct dialogues and consultations with the Sultanate, local Ulamas and Imams, the business sector, the youth, the academe, different families and clans, IDPs and their leaders, and nongovernment and civil society organizations, to further suit our plans to the needs of the Maranaos.
However, there have been dubious information propagated by those who refuse to cooperate with TFBM, which will only harm the relationship between the Maranao and the government; thus, we urge everyone to direct all concerns to us, so that we may address them swiftly and truthfully.
For our part, we shall continue to hear the grievances and suggestions of the affected communities and we will be open to adopting these in our plans for the city and continue to align with the directives of the President.
We will do our best to make our plans as inclusive as possible and make sure that no Maranao is left behind on our journey to bring back the glory of the City of Marawi.
Alongside our commitments, we reiterate our call: Kasama ninyo kami sa pagbangon ng Marawi.
Maraming salamat po.
