MARAWI CITY, May 30 (PIA TFBM ICCC) — Some 50 local farmers in Bubong town, Lanao del Sur benefited from the 50-hectare hybrid rice technology demonstration farm of SL Agritech Corporation in Barangay Pantar.

As part of the rehabilitation efforts in Marawi City, SL Agritech Corporation partnered with Go Negosyo and provincial government of Lanao del Sur with the aim to provide farmers with knowledge and skills on hybrid rice technology and educate farmers on proper farm management to help them achieve good yields. Apart from technical assistance, financial assistance through seeds and fertilizers were also distributed.

In a grand harvest festival held May 29, Frisco Malabanan of SL Agritech Corporation believes that farmers are able to follow the technology for the development of their community.

Meanwhile, Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, Go Negosyo ARMM Projects program head and adviser for Agripreneurship, hopes that farmers will be able to manage what they have started; business in agriculture.

Siba Ditucalan, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude for the help and knowledge they have received from SL Agritech Corporation. He called for unity and cooperation of his fellow farmers for a better and bountiful harvest.

SL Agritech Corporation, Go Negosyo and the provincial government of Lanao del Sur also plan to replicate this project to other areas of Lanao del Sur. (LEAntonio/PIA ICCC)
