ILIGAN CITY, November 7 (PIA-TFBM-ICCC) — The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) Information Management and Strategic Communications Support Group (StratComm) will hold its second series of Strategic Communications Workshop for Information Officers of different TFBM agencies from November 8 to 9 at the TFBM Field Office.

The two-day workshop seeks to equip government information officers with the capacity to effectively and accurately communicate activities of TFBM to their constituents and stakeholders and ensure information coordination among them by providing a better understanding of TFBM activities and the importance of strategic communications and crisis management campaign.

Further, sharing communication strategies in addressing stakeholder concerns on Marawi’s rehabilitation, conveying approaches for probable extreme circumstances, and presenting basic information on TFBM updates, TFBM Secretariat functions and operations, current security situation, developmental news writing and basic copyediting, and crisis communications management.

Six resource persons have been invited to speak at the event, namely Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director-General Harold Clavite, TFBM Field Office manager, Assistant Secretary Felix Castro, Jr., News and Information Bureau (NIB) and Philippine News Agency (PNA) Director Virginia Arcilla-Agtay, Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) Assistant Vice President for Corporate Affairs Connie Kalagayan, Joint Task Force Ranao deputy commander, Colonel Romeo Brawner, Jr., and Aexponent Media Productions President David Sta. Maria.

Representatives from different TFBM agencies are expected to participate in the workshop.

Earlier this year, StratComm conducted its first series of communications training for information officers, which included discussions on violent extremism, conflict and context sensitivity, and training for barangay chairpersons. (CTPenaco/PIA-ICCC)
