To the Homeowners of Sectors 1 and 2 and The Ranaw Muti-Sectoral Group:

Dear beloved brothers and sisters,

We fully understand your issues and concerns and in my capacity as Chair of TFBM, I would like to respond in the most appropriate, truthful and factual manner to some of your queries.

The national government, through TFBM and HUDCC as its lead agency, and all relevant national government agencies (NGAs), together with the city government of Marawi headed by Mayor Majul Gandamra and other officials including the ABC President, continue to work together in shaping a solution to the unprecedented and cruel effects of the siege with the commitment of finalizing the Master Development Plan for the rehabilitation of Marawi.

This plan, which has been subjected to public consultations and collaboration, is the same plan that has been improved and expanded to include all other proposed development plans outside the most affected area (MAA). This expanded Plan now covers the entire scope of total master development for the city of Marawi.

While certain stakeholders and all sectors of society have already been engaged in the consultation period, TFBM through HUDCC and NHA will, nevertheless, conduct a presentation and thorough orientation of the Plan, the soonest possible time, and we cordially invite you to join us along with city/barangay officials and other community leaders who represent the entire population in these affected areas.

On behalf of the President and the government, let me give you the assurance that we value each and every stakeholder in these efforts of bringing back normalcy in the city. The interests of families and communities who had suffered from this man-made disaster— the very same people who have to endure a prolonged difficult period in their lives, are paramount and are at the highest priorities of TFBM.

On another note, we are seriously looking into recent incidents wherein demolition processes were being violated or neglected. The Government will not tolerate such acts and shall come up with an appropriate resolution to this issue, including proper sanctions using the full force of the law against erring personnel and responsible parties shall be held accountable.

In this light, a Debris Management and Demolition Methodology has been crafted and will also be presented and emphasized in the forthcoming presentation of the master development plan.

We appreciate your feedback on these issues and thank you for providing us with factual information. We shall continue to work together to bring Marawi back to its feet, with our hope that the city will become vibrant, secure, and progressive once more. We ask all stakeholders to join hands with government in all these efforts.

Kasama ninyo kami sa pagbangon ng Marawi.
