Iligan City, May 29 (PIA-ICCC) – Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) Chairperson and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council Secretary Eduardo del Rosario expressed confidence on the legality of the inter-agency body’s dealings and engagements for the development of Marawi’s 24-barangay most affected area (MAA).
This was after news came out in the media that a certain Datu Meno Manabilang, claiming to be a leader of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Marawi City, filed on Tuesday a graft complaint against del Rosario, National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Marcelino Escalada, Jr., NHA Bids and Awards Committee Chairperson Victor Balba, and officials of CJI General Services, Inc at the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly giving undue advantage to favored contractors.
Del Rosario underscored that TFBM and NHA have always followed the rule of law and generally accepted ethical and moral standards in the overall rehabilitation of Marawi City.
“We would like to assure everybody that TFBM with all its 56 member-agencies is strictly adhering to the instruction of the President by ensuring that Marawi will rise as a prosperous city again,” del Rosario emphasized.
The TFBM chair who was designated by President Rodrigo Duterte to lead the Marawi rehabilitation, also expressed his respect in the freedom of expression and vowed to respond accordingly in the proper forum when he received the complaint. (WLBacelonia/PIA-ICCC)
