ILIGAN CITY, June 21 (PIA ICCC) – The Department of Health (DOH) through its regional office 10 Satellite Operation Center (OpCen) imparted knowledge on health care services to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the siege in Marawi City.

DOH 10 OpCen gave series of lectures to the IDPs sheltered at the ‘Bakwit Village’ Transitional Site in Matungao, Lanao Del Norte as part of the agency’s monthly health events for the calenday year 2019.

Also, the DOH 10 OpCen medical team initiated a series of activities and information drive related to health care for Marawi IDPs.

The agency also gave a series of lectures to IDPs related to this month’s promotion of National Kidney month, national dengue and national no smoking month.

Aside from sessions, the medical team also implemented psychosocial support to IDP toddlers situated at the ‘bakwit village’. The medical team also shared proper hygiene and sanitation to the IDP kids.

The agency aims to promote monthly health events to all transitional sites where Marawi IDPs are located.

DOH continues to conduct support, nutrition assessment and health monitoring to the victims of Marawi siege.

DOH also commits continuous health support until residents will fully recover. (LJKabagani/PIA ICCC)
