MARAWI CITY, July 5 (PIA-ICCC) – Senator Lawrence “Bong” Tesoro Go has called on the local elective officials of Lanao del Sur to support the programs pursued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Speaking before the municipal, city and provincial officials of Lanao del Sur in yesterday’s mass oath-taking ceremonies, Senator Go said, “the success of the national government depends on the support of the local officials.”
Go also emphasized his support to President Duterte’s three-pronged campaign against drugs, criminality, and corruption.
The government, Go said, is relentless in its campaign against illegal drugs because a drug addict member can bleed dry his family’s resources.
He told the elective officials attending the mass oath taking that the President has already dismissed a number of government officials who were accused of graft and corruption even if they were his supporters.
Aside from administering the oath of office of the elected officials, Senator Go also served as the guest of honor during the 60th founding anniversary of Lanao del Sur, which comprises 39 towns and one city.
It could be recalled that Lanao del Sur’s capital, Marawi City, was ravaged by a five-month fighting between the Maute IS-linked group and government troops, leaving thousands of families homeless especially those living in the 24 most affected barangays.
The six subcommittees on business and livelihood, housing, reconstruction, peace and security, land resource management, and health and social welfare under the aegis of Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) chaired by Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Secretary Eduardo del Rosario are working nonstop to rehabilitate the war-torn city.
