ILIGAN CITY, July 8 (PIA-ICCC) – The Task Force Bangon Marawi’s (TFBM) Information Management and Strategic Communication Support Group (IMSCSG) headed by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) is all set for the “Kumpas Barangay: Information and Serbisyo Caravan” to be held at Sarimanok Tent City, Marawi City on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
PIA Iligan Communications Command Center (ICCC) Project Director Franklin Gumapon emphasized that the activity aims to bring the services of TFBM member-agencies directly to Marawi displaced families who are now staying at different transitory sites.
“We are glad to facilitate again a fruitful discussion among our Maranao brothers and sisters and the concerned TFBM member-agencies. We also want to hear their concerns and develop plans with them to support the rebuilding of a peaceful and better Marawi,” Gumapon stressed.
Formerly known as “Mashwara: Info-tainment, consultation and Serbisyo Caravan,” the first activity was launched November of the year 2017, gaining positive response from Marawi IDPs.
“As part of our mandate in PIA to empower communities through dissemination of accurate information, we also want to make sure that Marawi IDPs are not left behind,” Gumapon added.
PIA together with TFBM member-agencies set up free services like medical and dental consultation, civil registry, livelihood training, haircut, and information dissemination.
“Kumpas Barangay: Information and Serbisyo Caravan” is done four times a year on different strategic areas of Marawi City to promote a better understanding between the government and the IDPs. (WLBacelonia/PIA-ICCC)
