MARAWI CITY, Aug. 20 (PIA ICCC) –  Marawi City commemorated its 79th charter day anniversary on Monday, Aug. 19, with a grand parade and cultural performances.

Speaking to the residents, Mayor Majul Gandamra enjoined them to start change within themselves for the betterment of Marawi.

“Upang tayo ay umahon nang lubusan sa nangyari sa atin kailangan natin ang pagbabago…Ang pagbabagong ito ay manggagaling sa ating sarili,” said Gandamra.

(In order for us to fully recover from what had happened to us, we need change… This change should start from us.)

Gandamra also thanked the different government agencies and humanitarian organizations that have been providing assistance and support to the residents since the ISIS-inspired group laid siege to the city.
