MARAWI CITY, Aug. 31 (PIA ICCC) – Spearheaded by the National Housing Authority (NHA) and Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), a total of 50 displaced families from Sarimanok Tent City Site 1 have been transferred today to the Boganga Lakeview shelter in this city.

Mindalano Laniah Saaban, one of the beneficiaries of the transitory housing unit, shared that she is grateful and happy that she is now transferred to the transitory shelter site.

“Sobra akong natuwa, sobranga saya dahil andito na kami sa bahay. Malaki ang pasasalamat ko kay Presidente Duterte, sa NHA at Task Force Bangon Marawi,” said Saaban.

(I am very much happy because finally we are here in a transitory house. I am very grateful to President Duterte, NHA and Task Force Bangon Marawi.)

The city government of Marawi also provided assistance for the transportation of the displaced families to the transitory site.

Each housing unit has a floor area of 24 square-meters with partitions, kitchen sink, restroom, and a rainwater catchment.

According to NHA, 163 temporary shelter units will be opened in Boganga Transitory Site while 300 units will also be opened in Sagonsongan Transitory Site to accommodate the remaining displaced families  who are in evacuation centers in Marawi City.

TFBM also continues to expedite the construction of transitory shelters  in Barangay Rorogagus and   in Barangay Dulay. (LEAntonio)
