MARAWI CITY, Sept. 20 (PIA ICCC) — Various Maranao crafts, native delicacies, ready-to-wear items and other products are now being displayed until Sept. 25 at Lanao del Sur Provincial Capitol Grounds.
Spearheaded by the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), Provincial Government of Lanao Del Sur, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Bangon Marawi Chamber of Commerce and Industry(BMCCI), the Bangon Marawi Heritage Food and Crafts trade fair aims to support the affected entrepreneurs of Marawi and to promote the local heritage of the city.
In line with the National Peace Consciousness Month celebration, the trade was conceived by various government agencies and private sector to showcase unity in promoting peace and prosperity.
“Ang lahat ng ito ay naging matugumpay dahil sa kooperasyon ng iba’t ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno,” TFBM Deputy Field Office Manager Antonio Sugarol said.
(All of these would not be successful without the cooperation of different government agencies.)
Some of the cooperatives which display their products include Dayawan Handicraft loom weaving producers cooperative, Pasad sa Ranao Handicrafts, Intad Negosyo , Maranao Collectibles, and DW Okir Cooperative Services. These cooperatives have also received livelihood assistance from various government agencies and humanitarian organization. (LEAntonio/PIA ICCC)
