MARAWI CITY, Oct. 9 (PIA ICCC) — The National Housing Authority (NHA) is set to assist those homeowners who had already given consent to demolish their damaged houses from sectors 1 to 7 at this city’s most affected area (MAA) for architectural and engineering design/plans on Oct. 15 to 17 at the Marawi City Hall.

The building design and plan, which is NHA’s commitment in support of the lined up activities for the “Kapananadem” (commemoration) of the second anniversary of Marawi liberation, is one of the requirements for the Kathagombalay or the processing of applications for the repair or construction of the houses/structures in MAA.

NHA-9 director and Marawi Project Management Office head Roderick T. Ibañez said in a press conference on Monday that architects and engineers from other NHA offices would be deployed in Marawi to help the affected homeowners.

“Magproprovide ang NHA ng assistance para sa ating IDPs na gusto bumalik, magpatyo ng bahay sa loob ng MAA. We are trying to have 15 architects to provide free services, designs and plans na magagamit sa pag-apply ng building permit,” said Ibañez.

To avail themselves of said assistance, the IDPs would first need to submit a lot plan from the social cartography conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), transfer of certificate of title or any documents that will prove their ownership of the lot at MAA.

The said documents should be submitted to the NHA – Marawi Project Management Office located at Marawi Resort Hotel, Mindanao State University Compound on October 7 to 11.

For now, the Kathagombalay is open for applicants from MAA’s Sector 3, the Moncado Kadingilan.

A one-stop shop has been established at the Marawi City Hall for the processing of the applications with the Office of the Building Official (OBO) from Tuesday through Friday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The applicants are required to bring documents such as land titles and deeds, plans, zoning receipt, Barangay clearance, and Bureau of Internal Revenue Tax (BIR) clearance. (LEAntonio)
