MARAWI CITY, Nov. 18 (PIA ICCC) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has begun distributing financial assistance worth P10,000 to each family from the less affected area (LAA) in this city based on the “Kathanor,” profiling of internally displaced persons (IDPs) spearheaded by the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM).

Being a member-agency of TFBM’s Subcommittee on Health and Social Welfare, the DSWD is committed to providing support for the Marawi recovery and rehabilitation.

Asnawi Lala of Boto Ambolong thanked DSWD and TFBM for the assistance they had received.

“Sa DSWD maraming slamaat, dahil ginagampanan nila ang trabaho nila. Hindi napapagaod na… yung mga problema namin,” said Lala.

(To DSWD, thank you very much for keeping your commitment…for not getting tired of attending to our problems.)

Lala also urged his fellow residents not to lose hope and remain resilient.

“Sa mga kapwa ko taga Marawi, tiis tiis lang, makakabangon tayo. Ang gobyerno, naghahanap ng paraan para maibangon tayo ulit,” he added.

(To my fellow residents of Marawi, just be patient; we will recover. The government is looking for ways to aid us in our recovery.)

Meanwhile, Norolain Adiong of  Boto Ambolong shared that she and her mother plan to put up a sari-sari store with the financial assistance given to them.

DSWD will continue to distribute financial assistance to the LAA residents. Below is the schedule of the distribution of this week.

The residents also received the 30 kilos of rice donated by the Taiwan government through the World Vision Philippines. (LEAntonio)
