MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–Looking back at the siege that destroyed the city four years ago, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa emphasized that an enhanced intelligence for security forces is needed to ensure that the recurrence of the warfare will be avoided.
“Enhance natin ang ating intelligence dahil kailangan one step ahead tayo palagi sa kanila kung mayroon man nagpaplano,” he said as he graced the commemoration of the city’s liberation at the Rizal Park here Saturday, October 16.
[Enhance our intelligence because we need to always be one step ahead of them if ever there is someone planning.]
Dela Rosa, who is the Chair of the Senate Special Committee on Marawi City Rehabilitation, shared that the government force was not posted on the event on the ground which the residents already knew was growing and this was noted to be probably due to the lack of harnessing of the information by the armed forces.
Now that the city undergoes the process of restoration, the Senator looks forward to magnifying in the next years of his service the recovery not only of the destroyed shelters and properties but also the livelihood of citizens who lost their means of living.
Further, Dela Rosa highlighted that his committee is constantly monitoring all accomplishments and programs undertaken by the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), and its chairperson Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario is said to have promised them that the rehabilitation will be attained according to the plotted timeline.
