MARAWI CITY, Feb. 6 (PIA ICCC) — The 24 barangays of the most affected area (MAA) of this city can now effectively deliver their services to the residents with the inauguration of the newly constructed satellite office located in Barangay Sagonsongan.

The satellite office was constructed by the barangay and the city government in partnership with the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM).

A barangay chairperson from the 24 barangays in the most affected area receive the key of his office in the satellite office. Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra reiterated that the city government would continue to support the barangays together with TFBM and partner organizations.

“Kami po sa city government ay patuloy ang suporta namin sa inyo kasama ang TFBM at iba’t ibang partners, CSOs. Sama-sama tayong magtulungan,” said Gandamra.

(We, in the city government, will continue to support you together with TFBM and other partners. Let’s work together.)

During the turnover ceremony, TFBM chair and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Eduardo del Rosario shared that “the satellite office is just temporary as there will be barangay complexes to be built in MAA.”

“Once our rehabilitation in the MAA is complete, you will have your barangay complexes where you can exercise your leadership to your constituents,” said del Rosario to the MAA barangay chairpersons.

The barangay complexes in MAA will have a health center and madrasah. (LEAntonio/PIA ICCC)
